Veggies

I have been listening to a new book on CD in my car. It is by the same woman who wrote year of meats . It is called all over creation and it follows a similar theme of trying to help consumers stop harming their bodies with the food they put into it. It is about the produce we eat however. It introduced me to the vocab "genetically engineered" Which is when at the genetic level the produce is cross-bred with a pesticide or in some cases fish to help the mass production of the produce. WOW. I def. need to get me some research on this because it sounds CRAZY. It has however inspired me to grow my own vegetables. My parents have a vegetable garden and I have always loved the food that comes from it. I have contemplated this idea before due to the healthiness of it. Unfortunately I rent a house so I cannot till the backyard to do this. Recently though Menomonie has developed a community garden. I need to get involved with this!!

This weekend I worked in Osceola where my boyfriend is from. He took me to a beautiful waterfall and we traveled in the downtown area of Osceola. It was super nice and really impressed me with the growing wonderfulness of this boy. :)

Remember me?

Recent blog love:

It has just random love stories people submit and some cute pictures. The romantic in my likes it :)

I have thought to myself that I am no longer a romantic; but it catches back up to me. I am so in like with my cute blonde boy. He is amazing to me. I can't wait to see him again; even if I have just finished seeing him :) I am scared the amazing won't last, because it never has in any previous relationship. My head says "be careful, you WILL get hurt again" and my heart says, "this feels amazing, you need to share everything with him" ... Who should I listen to??

So it is Saturday and I have some free time. This is crazy. I seem to work during the day and then work again during the night. I worked at Express earlier from 1-4 (lame shift, I know, I wish I had been able to stay longer but I got cut early). Later on I work at a bar in town as a shot girl. Love the job; it is mostly fun, and is easy.

Recently I read a book about the FISH! philosophy (http://www.charthouse.com/content.aspx?name=home2) which is a program to help corporations live for their customer. This book however took the philosophy and applied it to everyday life. It was very interesting and educational. One of the ideas is to be present, and not to do so many things at once but to "live in the moment" This is something I have heard many a times, but have never really grasped the idea. In this book it talks about not having so much on your plate, which made me reflect upon my work schedule. I work a lot, and have missed out on a lot because of my 3 jobs. I feel that in order to live a more fulfilling life I should quit one of my jobs, but I love them all. The one that is my least favorite is the one pertaining to my major. (the day care) So I shouldn't really quit that one. I will think about it and see how the summer goes because I will not have school to contend with. I do want to work a ton on my sewing and come up with a product that I can market possibly on etsy.com in order to do something I love and make a few bucks as well. I would love to break into that facet and be creative as part of my life. It really puts me at ease and helps my life to feel better. If anyone has an idea for a marketable product I could make; let me know!! I am a little lacking in inspiration for something I can make many of or some sort of theme I can work off.

Well I'm off to pursue another goal I have for this summer: exersizing regularly. :)
