football/animals

Me friend wrote this and I needed to share it. I'm not much of a football buff but I think its a cool idea.

He writes:
So I thought about this on the way to work and I think I'm on to something. If you were to give each position in football an animal that best represents it which animal would you choose? I thought about this hard and I think my final list... is near flawless. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I decided it makes most sense to give each defensive position a predatory animal and give the offensive positions herbivores (with some exceptions to animals that occasionally eat meat on the offensive end). I also restricted my animal comparisons to land animals because I want to visualize how the game would take place. Imagine, if you will my animals are straight out of The Chronicles of Narnia (a movie where animals talk) and they have the ability and know how to play a game of football. Also I realize this is an open ended argument and that it can never fully be resolved. Also bear with me that nearly all of my animals would have no way of holding a football, other than in their mouths. If you could visualize what animals best represent specific positions on the football field. Lastly this is just for fun and my own amusement. Enjoy.

What animals best represent football positions?
Defense-

Saftey- Alpha Male Wolf
--Hawk was a close second but I want to restrict this to land animals to keep it fair. A Hawk could just blitz all day and attack the quarterback's face and that’s just no fair. Wolves have incredible endurance and can run all day. Your safety needs to have marathon legs because he is running all over the field all day. The safety has to have the best vision of the field (why I thought Hawk would be fitting) and the perfect safety is in on every play. The wolf has a tremendous sense of where his prey is at all times. The wolf is master of his territory. The alpha male wolf is also a natural leader which is key to being an MVP type safety. Most importantly the wolf is super aggressive and can take down prey twice or even three times his size (see Charles Woodson).

Linebacker- Lions
--The middle linebacker is your alpha male lion. At first thought I wanted the wolf to be the middle linebacker (due to their endurance) and hawks or eagles to be the safetys but I thought it would be an insult to the king of the jungle if I didn't include him and his pride. Also the wolf is a bit undersized. The lions are a perfect fit for linebacker. They work together as a unit and are a near perfect blend of strength and speed. The middle linebacker has to be the alpha male because he is the king of his domain and the leader of his pack just as the middle linebacker is captain of his football team. He has more strength than his female counterparts and can stuff the run better. The females are better suited for outside linebackers because their natural hunting ability and speed make them perfect for catching any ball carrier that comes near their path. It's hard to exclude leopards or jaguars but they rely more on stealth and in an open battle field I want true fighters and lions are the cats for that job.

Cornerback- The Cheetah
--The speed champion, the cheetah is a perfect cornerback because of its unmatched ability to chase prey down. This animal is the fastest land animal alive able to run up to 75 mph for up to 1,500 ft. This animal can go from 0 to 63 mph in a matter of 3 seconds, a feat that beats out most supercars. The cornerback also needs to be able to change direction on the blink of an eye incase play action is called and needs to redirect all of its attack on the running back. A cheetah, with lightning bolt speed, would be an MVP cornerback because of its ability to chase down the ball carrier even if he is on the opposite end of the field. You could also use these animals as kick returners.

Defensive End- The Ussari Tiger (Siberian Tiger)
--This is without doubt the most deadly land animal alive. I’ve read that being charged by one is equivalent to having a grand piano fall on you from two stories up. They can weigh up to 600 pounds (some sources even say 700) and can sprint at short distances up to fifty miles per hour. Imagine a 600 pound object coming at you at fifty miles per hour. Not to mention that they have the explosiveness to leap ten feet into the air. The Siberian Tiger is the perfect blend of strength and speed. The Tiger is also fierce and deadly aggressive. At first thought I wanted the tiger to be linebacker because of its amazing power but I’ve realized that its true spot is defensive end because of its inability to run long distances. The tiger has been known to walk up to 150 miles in a day’s time but tires easily when running. So our tiger could walk the field all day and still have the energy to relentlessly assault the quarterback on each snap. With its amazing ability to sprint at short distances this animal is the perfect defensive end. Its sheer power and attack speed make it an MVP at dealing deadly sacks and dropping running backs behind the line. It also has size to clog the line and a huge muscular wingspan to grab any nearby foe. The tiger also has 4 inch razor sharp claws (nearly the sharpest claws in all of nature, one could perform surgery with them) and a set of jaws that can clamp down on an enemy’s neck at one thousand pounds of force per square inch (it takes only 5 pounds of force to break the human vertebrae), there for it could drag down a ball carrier twice its size or more.

Defensive Tackle- The Polar Bear
--You need your defensive tackles to be huge, strong, and aggressive. The Polar Bear is the world’s largest land carnivore weighing up to 1,500 pounds and on its hind legs stands at 14 feet tall. Need I say more? The polar bear has MVP strength to move an offensive lineman out of the way and is a massive wall that will clog up the line and stop the inside run game.
Offense:
Offensive Guard- The Grizzly Bear
--If the defense is bringing Polar Bears than the offense might as well guard them with Grizzly Bears. Now I know that Grizzly bears eat meat but they get 80%-90% of their diet from plants. The Polar Bear on the other hand obtains nearly all its nutrients from meat. This is why I have the Polar Bear (with its hunting instincts) playing defense and the Grizzly Bear (with its protective traits) playing offense. The Grizzly Bear is naturally more protective than the Polar Bear because it has more enemies to worry about. Humans often share the same land as Grizzly Bears, as do wolves, mountain lions, and in some areas of Far East Russia; Tigers. The Grizzly Bear is a protective species by nature and that is precisely the quality we are looking for in our offensive linemen. It is extremely dangerous to be even be anywhere within eyesight of a mother Grizzly Bear and her cubs because your presence could alert her to defensive mode and trigger an attack. The Grizzly Bear comes in close second as the world’s largest bear with male specimens weighing up to 1,000 pounds. Their sheer size and stout strength and aggressive, protective behavior make them perfect for creating holes for the running back and a shield of protection for the quarterback.

Offensive Tackle- The White Rhinoceros
The white Rhinoceros is the second largest land animal in the world weighing up to 7,000 pounds. One record breaking specimen weighed in at a whopping 10,000 pounds. Not only are they huge but they wear the thickest skin of all land animals which will protect them from the continuing assault of the defense. They also have a massive bulk of muscle in their necks that supports their colossal head and horns (which grow up to 59 inches in length) making them brutal battering rams. At even a moderate charge these beasts will plow away anything in their path making them ideal offensive linemen. They are also protective by nature. The White Rhinoceros fears no animal and seeing as how our offensive tackle will be mostly guarding a Siberian Tiger this fearless quality will surely come in handy.

Center- Alpha Male Silverback Gorilla
--Your center is the captain of your line. He has to be able to pick up blitzes and protect the quarterback at all costs. I chose the silverback Gorilla because of its high intelligence, sheer strength, and fearsome protective nature. Also I think that you could literally teach a Gorilla to hike a football. I chose the alpha male in particular because in nature the alpha gorilla makes virtually all the decisions regarding his troop, including where and when to travel, where and when to sleep, and where and when to eat. The center is similar in the way that he is the commander of his line and has the decision making power to audible the line in order to pick up blitzes.

Tight End- The Stallion Warhorse
--Your tight end is literally the workhorse of your team. He is possibly your most versatile offensive weapon and as the NFL evolves the tight end is becoming more and more a staple of a winning team. I chose the horse because he is reliable, strong, fast, protective and has unmatched endurance. You need your tight end to be protective and strong because half of the time you will use him as a blocker but he also needs to be fast in case you need him to go deep for a pass. Horses are the ultimate work animal. We have used them to plow our fields, do battle, and to explore the known world. Your tight end also needs to have a high football IQ and horses luckily are extremely clever.

Fullback- The Bison
--I had a bit of trouble deciding whether the Bison and Rhinoceros shouldn’t switch positions but after much thought I think I’m right in placing the Bison at my fullback and the Rhinoceros at the protective line. The reason is speed. The Bison can amazingly get its 2,000 pound frame moving at 35 miles per hour for long distances at a time. Also their huge head and deadly horns make them perfect battering rams for pounding the ball up the gut or for clearing defenders out of the way. On most plays our fullback will be blocking and often times running up field with our halfback to clear a path. This is why I need speed at the fullback position and had to put the Rhinoceros at the offensive line. The Bison is also another fearless protector in the animal kingdom which makes it a clear candidate for a blocking position. Although when we choose to run up the gut with our fullback the Bison will have no problem clearing a path.

Halfback- The Ram
--I wanted to use a horse just because when a team starts relying on one running back they call it “riding the horse” but I couldn’t think of a better animal for the tight end. The Ram to me is more fitting for a halfback. Although Ram’s are small they are extremely quick and are equipped with a set of protective horns that encourage them to smash into any predator in its path. A Ram represents the perfect running back because he is quick and elusive yet has the explosive ramming power to take the ball up the gut.

Wide Receiver- The Grey Hound
--At first thought I wanted to use the Gazelle to represent my wide receiver because the most athletic Gazelles can outrun even a cheetah. I decided though that a good wide receiver doesn’t even need to be faster than his defender he just needs to outwit him by running a deceptive route. The dog had to be used in my analogies because it is incredibly smart and can be taught tricks. Also I must admit I thought about dogs catching frisbees in their mouths and I definitely need my receiver to be able to catch. I still need my wide receiver to be fast so no one can catch him in the open field so I chose the fastest of all the dogs the Grey Hound, capable of running up to 50 miles per hour. The wide receiver is also a quarterback’s best friend and this is only fitting that I choose man’s best friend as a receiver when you find out what animal I choose for quarterback.

Quarterback- The Human (see Michael Vick)
--You need opposable thumbs to throw a football end of story. Ok let me elaborate more, because this is the most important position on the field and that is why it needs to be played by the smartest known animal. The human body is actually quite amazing when it is in its prime condition. With millions of years of experience of running from big cats and wolves the human body has been conditioned to escape. That’s why our quarterback is best suited as a human because of his uncanny scrambling ability. He is also the commander on the field and demands respect. It is his game, he invented it after all.

The Kicker- The Kangaroo
--Good for kicking and not much else.

update

Well... I am home in Waukesha for the weekend. I am babysitting my parent's dog, so I have the house to myself. I am kind of nervous. My best friend is going out of town to tell her future in laws that she is engaged to their son. Sooo... I was worried I would have no one to hang out with, but I have found the answer and he is very furry! My baby boy, Winston :)

Recaps:
Vegan diet= going horribly... 1/2 of my diet is cookie dough.
Exercise = never. And I drive to school a lot.
Belly= BIG !

This weekend I hope to take the wiener on some walks though. I really want to start p90x again, but really I have always wanted to be on p90x. It just takes so much damn time. I need to keep up my physique though since I am now a single lady! ohhhhh boyyyy... Here comes trouble. But being single is always fun. My roommate said to me it doesn't really matter what I choose to do with my free time because I don't have anyone to answer to. True. But I am so glad to have my roomies as friends. And I have been hanging out with my friend Court who I love. I get to see my two old HS friends this weekend so thats awesome! Also, I really want to go shopping :) When don't I though?

conspiracy theories. wow.

Auntie Anna

I am going to be an aunt! I am so excited :) My brother and his wife are having a baby in February. They will not be finding out the sex ahead of time... But I am SO EXCITED. I recently have had baby fever. I seriously thought I was ready. Then I broke up with my boyfriend... the man I was spose to marry. Things change huh? But I still love babies. At work I love to hang out in the infant room because they are just so cute !

I found out my best friend from high school is engaged. OMG I cannot believe it. I still feel about 16 and that my friend is not old enough to be getting married. That's like serious grown-up stuff. I am kinda jealous and also it is ironic that it should happen on the same day that I broke up with my boyfriend. It was so hard, but it needed to be done :/ Congrats Margrit Borchert!

Suummeerr

Well... Summer is about halfway over, so I thought I would fill y'alls in on some goals I had. I wanted to have a lot of fun this summer, so I made a list of things that I wanted to do over the summer for fun. I think its working, but I have yet to get an opportunity to float down a river. I want to do this because we don't do this where I am from. People say that it is super fun tho. The list is pictured above.

Dream-Tyme machine

So at work the other night (serving shots at a bar) a man couldn’t buy a shot because he did not have any cash. We told him to use the ATM. And that got my thinking about a discussion my family had about whether each individual called the ATM an ATM or a time machine. (Tyme machine) I talked to my coworker about this because I wanted to know if anyone still called it a tyme machine. She was from Minnesota and said that no one in Minnesota calls it that. She had never heard that until she came to WI. So this got me thinking and clearly my subconscious was interested because I had a dream about it. I don't have all the details still because it was a few days ago, but basically my family went back in time and I can picture us sitting in this old shop which honestly could have been a modern-day cracker barrel. My family wanted to take a family photograph (like one of those old-timey ones you can get on family vacations) and I objected because I was crabby and had greasy hair. That's about all I can remember. Do you call it a tyme machine? Have you ever taken one of those old timey photographs? I have always wanted to!

Personal life:

I have applied to MANY jobs and have thoughts of going up and down main st. to get applications from each business.

I have been exercising (Pilates everyday and running a SHORT distance)

My friend started p90x and it made me wanna start again but I haven’t. It takes sooo long to workout with it because it is an hour to do. This just makes me not wanna do it before I even try. Noooo motivation for a long workout.

On Tuesday I got to see my main man Thomas Earl Petty :) and the Heartbreakers. It was great, it was fun and I wish I could go down to Milwaukee and see him at Summerfest. It is truly amazing to see someone who you have idolized for so long live in concert. It is so thrilling and just.... Amazing!
Posted above are a couple pictures I managed to get. I also took a lot of video. Its on my Youtube account which I will link up.

Positives

So I realized my last blog was kinda depressing. So here are some happy things in my life:

-I have time to work out now that I’m not working so much

-I have some time to relax now.

-I love my jobs still

-I have been able to bring my kitty cat up to Menomonie for the summer!!

(his name is Winston-pictured above)

-I have moved into a new and bigger room with a HUGE closet :D

-Going to Tom Petty concert tonight!! :D

-I have been hanging out with a friend I haven’t seen very much throughout the school year- she has a cute little wiener named Lucy(pictured above)

Although, I still don’t have any awesome dreams to report. In the dream area however, I have recently watched both Alice in Wonderlands because I have never seen them. I think they are both great. What do you think?

As for fashion and creating- I have been busy with moving and dumb stuff so I will be able to do some sewing tomorrow, because I have to go now to get ready for my love-TOM PETTY Soooooo psyched.

Some days are diamonds...

Three things I would like to blog about today include:

-The weekend-wedding
-My plants
-My garbage

Over the weekend I went to my cousins wedding and brought along a cute blonde boy. He met my family and all went well! YAY. The wedding was interesting to say the least. I feel like my family liked and got along better with the boy than with me. But of course I am very insecure.

The weekend was a lot of fun and I am glad I got a chance to see my family and have a little fun.
Also... I made an awesome necklace to go along with my dress!! (pictured above.)

My plants!! They are getting so bigg!!(see picture above) There is a meeting for the Menomonie community garden tomorrow that I maaayyy go to if I get enough courage.

So the other week my garbage can was gone! Who steals a garbage can?? I have to put my can in front of the neighbors' house because we split the garbage fee with them. Welll... those people moved out and new people moved in. So I take a look around the back of their house where they keep their cars to see if anyone is home... and what do I see?? my garbage can of course!!! So I take it back-obviously. This was Wednesday-little did I know that I should have locked that sucker up. Because I came home on Monday to find my garbage can missing!!! dun dun dun... I check at the neighbors where it went missing before.. and it was not there. Then I look in their backyard, and see it poking its little head out of their shed. can you believe it>??? I of course have every intention of going over there and confronting them about why they need 3 garbage cans when one is clearly mine... but haven't gotten up the courage... :( Instead I just want to go steal it back! ahhh the low road. But the worst part is I steamed some broccoli last night and it STANK sooo bad! And I could not put it in my outside garbage can because I DONT HAVE ONE anymore!!! UGH. And on top of that, as if I weren't bitching enough, my landlord still hasn't replaced the storm windows with screens like promised! SO the smell has no where to go. Not a good smell to wake up to...

Sometime soon I think I may dream... and log it on here ;)

In other news:

Exercise-going great because I have not been working
Work- not going so well because the day care has not given me hours the past 3 weeks, Express will only give me 1-2 shifts a week and Spirited promotions are getting less and less and harder and harder to book!!
Dreams- Not so many, which is why I need to concentrate on dreaming a good one tonight!

Veggies

I have been listening to a new book on CD in my car. It is by the same woman who wrote year of meats . It is called all over creation and it follows a similar theme of trying to help consumers stop harming their bodies with the food they put into it. It is about the produce we eat however. It introduced me to the vocab "genetically engineered" Which is when at the genetic level the produce is cross-bred with a pesticide or in some cases fish to help the mass production of the produce. WOW. I def. need to get me some research on this because it sounds CRAZY. It has however inspired me to grow my own vegetables. My parents have a vegetable garden and I have always loved the food that comes from it. I have contemplated this idea before due to the healthiness of it. Unfortunately I rent a house so I cannot till the backyard to do this. Recently though Menomonie has developed a community garden. I need to get involved with this!!

This weekend I worked in Osceola where my boyfriend is from. He took me to a beautiful waterfall and we traveled in the downtown area of Osceola. It was super nice and really impressed me with the growing wonderfulness of this boy. :)

Remember me?

Recent blog love:

It has just random love stories people submit and some cute pictures. The romantic in my likes it :)

I have thought to myself that I am no longer a romantic; but it catches back up to me. I am so in like with my cute blonde boy. He is amazing to me. I can't wait to see him again; even if I have just finished seeing him :) I am scared the amazing won't last, because it never has in any previous relationship. My head says "be careful, you WILL get hurt again" and my heart says, "this feels amazing, you need to share everything with him" ... Who should I listen to??

So it is Saturday and I have some free time. This is crazy. I seem to work during the day and then work again during the night. I worked at Express earlier from 1-4 (lame shift, I know, I wish I had been able to stay longer but I got cut early). Later on I work at a bar in town as a shot girl. Love the job; it is mostly fun, and is easy.

Recently I read a book about the FISH! philosophy (http://www.charthouse.com/content.aspx?name=home2) which is a program to help corporations live for their customer. This book however took the philosophy and applied it to everyday life. It was very interesting and educational. One of the ideas is to be present, and not to do so many things at once but to "live in the moment" This is something I have heard many a times, but have never really grasped the idea. In this book it talks about not having so much on your plate, which made me reflect upon my work schedule. I work a lot, and have missed out on a lot because of my 3 jobs. I feel that in order to live a more fulfilling life I should quit one of my jobs, but I love them all. The one that is my least favorite is the one pertaining to my major. (the day care) So I shouldn't really quit that one. I will think about it and see how the summer goes because I will not have school to contend with. I do want to work a ton on my sewing and come up with a product that I can market possibly on etsy.com in order to do something I love and make a few bucks as well. I would love to break into that facet and be creative as part of my life. It really puts me at ease and helps my life to feel better. If anyone has an idea for a marketable product I could make; let me know!! I am a little lacking in inspiration for something I can make many of or some sort of theme I can work off.

Well I'm off to pursue another goal I have for this summer: exersizing regularly. :)

Things I like

I have been reading a book called My Year of Meats. It is an amazing book so far. In it there is reference to a writer named: Sei Shonagon who writes in a pillow book. A lot of the pillow book contains lists. Such as.. things to make you happy, things that are pathetic... etc. So here is one I came up with today:

Things I like:
When the door is already unlocked when i come home.
When I am on time for work
When I get offered a massage by a cute blonde boy
Being able to wake up on time for the day (a rarety)
snuggling.

eh.. its weak.. but a start. Post your own additions!!

Also, I seem to have forgotten to upload my pics of my finished hot airballoon dress. so here they are.

Photo blog

I just ran across this photo blog via imgfave. Definitely recommend that site.

I also love ffffound. And branching off of that the photo blog:

Both of these have very intriguing photos, some kind of risque, but all I love.

CHECK THEM OUT

Thursday, February 4, 2010

oh randoms

Good news! Today I learned how to check in shipment at work! So I am learning how to do more at work! yay.
This weekend no one is at my house! AHH... I'm scared I will be bored. But I do have a lot to do.

Do you ever notice that when you get to thinking that you should work out, and you are getting fat and lazy, you crave ice cream and other naughty foods? Well, I do.

So over break a pipe burst in my house!
Tracy came home and the whole hallway was flooded. Our entrance that we use to get into our house is in the back of our house, which leads to the hallway, on the right of which is Tracy's room, and on the left is the kitchen. Well the whole place was a huge puddle. My door wouldn't close because the floor was so warped. So some men came over to assess the damage, and they said they would have to tear out the floor!

So right now we have no floor finish in our kitchen/hallway/Tracy's bedroom. Yikes. It just stinks because the toilet in the downstairs bathroom is ripped out, and all the kitchen and hallways are ripped apart. We need to wear shoes all over the house which I don't really like.

Back. in black.

It's been a while, how have you been? I hope well. I have missed you, as I know you have missed me :) First I wanted to explain my absence. One day over break I had an intense migraine, and I decided to take a pill and listen to some soothing music (do not poke fun). So I put my computer on the floor next to my bed, and right next to it happened to be the glass of water that I took my pill with. While I was asleep, my lovely cat (Winston; pictured left) decided that he was thirsty. He tipped over the glass of water, which spilled ALL OVER my laptop. Tragically, I did not find out about this soon enough, and my computer would not turn on. So for the second half of my winter break I could not use my laptop. I thought that I wasn't very attached to my computer, but this proved that I am kinda obsessed. I missed it SO much. It is nice to be able to go on my computer and watch youtube videos, or catch up on some new show I'm obsessed with (right now its Make it or Break it). i also love to read random blogs. Do you have any good ones to recommend for me? I lost all my links when I lost my computer. So to end the story I took my computer to the A5K, (ask 5000; the IT on campus.) and had to get a loaner. I am very happy to have a computer once again, but I lost all my music favorites, and documents on the other computer. OH well...

One other thing I wanted to share is that I am currently working at Express. After I quit, I realized that I would miss Express. I REALLY love working there. Plus, some things became more clear to me when my boss called me and said that she didn't want me to quit and why. Let me back up a little bit.
The reason why I quit Express:
Back in October or November, one of the managers was promoted. So her position was free. She was a part time manager (we call them CSLs) and so the position of part time CSL was up for grabs. Also, there was a holiday CSL position that needed to be filled. Ironically, there were only two of us applying so I felt pretty good. Also, the other girl who was applying had only been working at Express for under a year, she was only 18, and I felt like I was better suited for the job. Unfortunately, I didn't get the part time CSL job, and was given the holiday CSL job. I was still happy, it is exciting to get a promotion in any way. I immediately had a drawer in the office, was included in all things managerial, and was very psyched. Only a couple weeks later this job was pulled out from under me because our mall wasn't open enough over the holidays. This sucked. My boss said that she wanted to keep training me on opening and closing procedures as I already knew how to close by myself. I was also promised further training in another area Express. I was to be trained as a fashion expert; as Express calls it. This includes working the fitting rooms, helping people build outfits, knowing everything there is to know about the clothes, and just being super fashionable and knowledgeable. I was also promised the opportunity to learn the visual aspect of the business. I would be in charge of moving the clothing into places that will help people buy more, I would dress the mannequins, and be in charge of all other visual aspects. Unfortunately none of this training took place. I was not trained as a fashion expert, I was not trained for other CSL duties as promised. I was also not trained in anything visual. It sucked. Not only this, but one night as I was closing, a girl came in to help us straighten up from the mess the customers made. At least this is what I thought that she was there to do. Instead, I found out not from anyone telling me, but by figuring things out that she was there to learn how to close the registers. I asked her if she was a CSL. I totally expected her to say no, but why else would she be learning how to close down the store?? Of course, she said yes. I was so mad I thought I was going to cry. On our way out of the store that night my boss told me that the girl who had beat me out for the part time CSL position had quit, and that this other girl was now CSL. Nothing was said about an interview... which I thought should be public, so that we could apply if any of us employees wanted a shot at the position. Also, wasn't I CSL material if I had gotten the holiday CSL position??

The next day I called and quit. I said that it seemed that Express didn't think I was develop able with their company, so I needed to look elsewhere so that I could make money and get experience/responsibilities.
My boss called back the next day and said that they did think I was developable and that they were planning on training me as they had promised after the holiday season, and that it was too busy to train me during holiday.
With this and the love of my job in mind, I decided to withdraw my request to quit. Everyone was very happy, which made me happy that they actually wanted me to work at Express!

So here I am, after a winter break, and I have returned to work at Express. I still absolutely love my job, and have been learning a FEW things. I still wish it were more, and hope that if I continue my great work I will one day be a CSL.

In other news, I heard that a day care in town was hiring. I applied and have an interview for Friday. Wish me luck!!!!!!! This would be nice to get some experience working with children (looks good on a resume) and the place is closer, and I would likely be paid more. The only thing is I told them I could work Tuesday/Thurs mornings, which is when I currently work at Express. Well, considering all I just said about that job, that will turn out okay I think. Still love the job, but I wish I had a different position at that job :-/

Obviously haven't gotten the job yet, but my hopes are up! Do a rain dance!!?? (but instead of dancing for rain, dance for me to get this job ;))

Things get discouraging.

Well, I felt the need to blog just because I haven't for a while. The reasons I have not are 3-fold:
1-My computer isn't working: my cat knocked over water onto it. This is entirely my fault because I left a glass of water nearby my computer. Now it will turn on but nothing comes up on the screen. UGH.
2-My new years resolutions are not going as planned (I may elaborate more later).
3-I have been feeling LAZY, and such...

On a positive note, I have bought a pea coat! It's super cute, but I still am tentative about it. We'll see. Also, things have slowed down in Waukesha as my mother went back to school, and so now I don't have too many people to hang out with at home. She would always wake me up and say, "Hey! You wanna go shopping??" ...Why would I say no?? It's so hard to wake up when nothing is going on. Although, another positive is that a woman I used to help watch her kids came by and offered me a couple of days to babysit. And today I babysat for the two little boys I have cared for since their birth. Love them. Another positive is that I will be headed to my best friend's school in Indiana to hang out this weekend. She went back to school the 4th, and is currently student teaching. I am looking forward to it because I have not been able to see her a lot over this break.

But, I have been sewing (pretty much) everyday of break, and yesterday I realized all the things I have made suck. UGH. I wish things would turn out better. I also think that maybe I just need to work on my creations harder. OR... I need to just practice. I just got super frustrated yesterday, and of course I haven't done all I wanted to do over break... I haven't made much headway on learning guitar, and have only read one book. I can't imagine how things would be if I was still wasting so much time on my computer. Speaking of which, since my computer died I haven't been able to do my P90X!!! UGH. Well I have managed to go on the treadmill (most) every day.

For all the sleeping I have been doing, I haven't had too much interesting dream material. I did have a dream I went to Africa, (one of my friends is traveling there, and I dreampt that I tagged along) and I had a dream about my girlcrush (nothing graphic/romantic/lesbians, we were just real good friends in the dream. A lot of giggling.. )

Meow.... I wish I had more interesting things in my life. I am excited to go back to school for once in my life... My house is having a party for two of my roomies' birthdays, and I am just excited to have fun and let loose and see my new boycrush and all my other friends of course.

Update. NY resolutions

Today was day 2 of P90X. I finally got started on it! woo. And this time I won't poop out. :)
I am sore.

I finished a skirt for my line, and have a shirt almost finished. I have to decide if I want to keep it a midriff, then I would have to wear it with something high waisted, or go back to the 90s. :/
White or navy blue sailor shorts could be part of the line. LOVE sailor shorts.

Tomorrow I am headed to Lakefront Brewery to go on a tour with two of my HS friends! I am excited. One of them has been in New Zealand for the semester. I can't wait to hear all about it.

That's pretty much all that's new. I'm on the hunt for a new coat, something kinda like a pea coat, but different. I went shopping for one today. Instead I came home with a dress. I think I will wear it tomorrow. Ramble, ramble...

And, I want everyone to know about this blog I love. I have followed it for a few years, and I love it. Such interesting photos. I felt the need to share it because I kept seeing pics that reminded me of people I knew. ENJOY

New year, new blog

In 2010 I will...

-Get to know my neighbors.
-Create!
-Exercise(P90X)
-Get better grades :/
-Read books
-Be kinder (more kind?)
-Gain knowledge
-Learn a foreign language
-eat healthy
-Get even better at waking up early
-Use my new learn to play guitar book to learn to play guitar!
-Save money so I can travel.

...Ok so some of those are going to be harder than others, but I figure I would make a lot of resolutions, and then I would accomplish some of them. You know, like the saying-shoot for the moon, even if you miss you will end up among the stars-

What is YOUR new years resolution?
